HAMPI- Places to Explore While You Visit Hampi
HAMPI- Places to Explore While You Visit Hampi
Hampi, when you listen to this beautiful word you always get an imagination of monuments like Stone Chariot, Virupaksha Temple, Vijaya Vittala Temple, etc., but there are so many other things you could explore while visiting Hampi.
Factories: I’m not talking about a regular factory which you see daily, I’m talking about factories that are 5 times bigger than the usual ones you see. Yes, factories with this size can only be witnessed in movies, documentaries, etc., but you can witness this while you’re travelling through Danapur Village highway to Hampi, and it is a treat for the eyes when you see it for the first time.
There are two factories that you come across as you drive towards Hampi; the first one is BMM ISPAT LIMITED and the other one is The Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Limited.

Tungabhadra Dam Backwaters View Point: Just after the factories if you keep going on the same highway for 12 kms, you can see Tungabhadra dam reservoir to your left and there is a view point on the highway for checking this amazing place. You’ll feel as if you’re seeing a huge ocean next to you and this is the backwaters of Tungabhadra dam so you can only see water as far as you can see.

Hospet Tunnel: This was something new for me when I saw the tunnel for the first time in Karnataka. The tunnel is just so big that it gives you a different experience when you travel through it. The tunnel is approximately 261 meters in length with some excellent lighting works which makes driving through it easy. The tunnel also has a railway track beside it; the view from the train will be an entirely different experience as you can see Tungabhadra backwaters and the beautiful tunnel view.

Rock Formations: As all of us know Hampi is filled with different rock formations which make each one of them unique, it feels like someone has sprinkled rocks all over the place from the sky. People can climb any rock formation they want to explore, see the sunrise and sunset from above. Some of the rock formations have also been converted into temples which most of the people visit and don’t want to explore unexplored ones.

Cafes in Hampi: This is one of my favorite parts of Hampi. I and my friends visited Space Baba Cafe as the name was different and unique from the rest of them, the setup was quite simple with two mattresses around a table with two pillows for a nice and comfortable seating position. The vibe was completely different from the normal cafes that we see in Bangalore and the lightings, paintings, and wall posters were the key elements for the vibe.
