BYJU’S has grown into one of the most successful EdTech companies in the world. With humble beginnings as a tuition centre, it transitioned to becoming BYJU’S – The Learning App in 2015. The app offers content for K-12 students and various other competitive exams like JEE, NEET, IAS, etc. It is aiming for a new era of education where students “Fall in Love with Learning” and become self‑initiated learners.

BYJU’S played a major role in the lives of children during the lockdown. As social distancing norms forced students to study at home, BYJU’S went out of its way and offered content free for all on its learning app for a specific period.

TIME highlighted how BYJU’S is now going global and reaching out to new markets fuelled by funding from Tencent and BlackRock. In its vision to promote digital learning, BYJU’S acquired platforms such as Osmo, WhiteHat Jr, and Aakash. The American educational gaming app Osmo has given a foothold to BYJU’S in the US e-learning market. Outside India, BYJU’S announced one-on-one lessons in the United States, United Kingdom, Indonesia, Mexico, and Brazil. The new expansion of “BYJU’S Future School” will offer math, coding tutorials, science, music, English, and fine arts classes in the overseas market.

“The explosive growth has turned BYJU’S into one of India’s most valued start-ups—valuing it at $15 billion, up from $5.5 billion in July 2019.” (TIME)
