BYJU’S Acquires Upskilling Platform ‘Great Learning’

BYJU’S, the EdTech decacorn, is continuing its acquisition spree in India and overseas since last year. It has acquired several companies including Aakash, Whitehat Jr., Osmo, Epic, HashLearn, etc. Now, BYJU’S has again acquired an upskilling platform Great Learning in a cash and equity deal of $600 million. This marks the 6th acquisition by the EdTech startup in 2021.

Great Learning is India’s first online upskilling platform for professional and higher education. In its mission to provide impactful learning to everyone, the platform offers free and paid in-demand career-relevant programs and inspires individuals to #PowerAhead in their careers. The learning content includes higher learning degrees, diploma, and certificate courses in digital marketing, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc. from world-class universities.

Yes, with the acquisition of Great Learning, BYJU’S, the EdTech giant, has stepped into an entirely different space – the upskilling and reskilling segment.
